The 7-sided dice these are inspired by were used with a form of 7-player "Backgammon" and a variation on Chess which was played on a board 10 squares on each side an extra pieces, the dice were apparently used to determine which Chess piece you could move during each turn
These dice can land with one corner facing up, therefore they were scored by counting the the upper-most side that lands facing the player who rolled them.
